#thekaleidoscopeduck

Amidst of all the posts that I've been wanting to write and share, I'm a little ashamed to post this one. But it's something I admit I'm sort of addicted to. If you're one of those who reads the title of a post, you might have a clue of what I'm referring to.

There's this one brand that I've hold dear to my heart. I've seen the very few first people that started to develop the brand. From the tiny details of the hems, up to how the website should look like. I was sitting next to the person who first manage the brand, a very lovely person with a London accent.

I saw the prototypes, the charms, samples of materials and that's where I knew the hard work it takes to create, develop and package a truly good brand with equally great products. Have you figured out what I'm talking about yet?

I've been incorporating it with my assignments and I've gotten really close to the people around the brand (they're really nice people!). It's dUCk. No, not the quacking duck. dUCk from the dUCk scarves!

Sheesh, never follow their Instagram is it? Should follow now. They offer a range of premium basics and they are known for their limited editions that sold out within minutes! I'm not kidding. Seriously. WITHIN. MINUTES.

The latest one was #theKaleidoscopeDuck collection. The box was so beautiful I just had to have it. The print on the scarf, was even more breathtaking. It's a must-have item for everyone who loves printed scarves. Don't believe me, here are some pictures I managed to save from the website.

Isn't it pretty?! I'm so in love. This is in Pink and they have another one in Black. Since I've managed to get the Black version of the KL scarf (the first limited edition collection), I thought I should get a different colour.

The dUCk team announced on their Instagram page that they were releasing the collection at 9am Malaysian time. Since I'm in the UK, that means it's 7 hours earlier aka it will be at 2am. So I thought I might just stay up while I wait for my morning prayers too (Subuh starts at around 3am during spring).

I was happily preparing my card and getting ready for the launch. At exactly 2am (UK time):

*the release*

*click on link, add to cart*

Oh probably I should check how much credit I still have. I still have more than enough! Let's use my credit. Or so I thought.

Went back to the Shopping Cart page and the worst thing you could possibly imagine for someone who really wants that one thing....

Ah.. the frustration. I know, it's my fault I didn't check the balance for my credits *mentalnotetoself*. But, it sold out like in less than 5 minutes! I remember glancing at the time on my laptop to check what time it was when I saw the word 'Sold Out'.

Like all other limited edition collections, this time too dUCkies (dUCk fans) were blasting the brand's Instagram post with comments filled with frustration, anger, annoyance and you know, those sort. One after another came in, I swear I could read it like a book.

I knew this would happen so I calmly tell myself that they'll be reproducing the collection again and I might score one the next time. But not wasting any chance, I commented on one of the post and just said if anybody has an extra pink, they can contact me so I can buy it from them. Ya know, sometimes others might just have an extra.

Let's just hope the next reproduction is soon and I get to at least get a hold of one of the colours. #positivethinking.

Things we do for the brands we love. Back to dissertation then.

Toodles!
