nasi beringin, mutiara bangsar

I have always wanted to blog about the things that I eat. For those who have been following me on Instagram, you can see how crazy I am about trying food and having my thoughts expressed on what I have tasted.

Alas, although IG allows you to write as many characters as you want, I find it annoying and irritating to read a lengthy explanation on the caption of the pictures. And that doesn't even include the tags on the pictures!

So putting myself on others shoes, I find it best to give like a somewhat "full-review" on the food that I have heartily swallow to fill my gastronomical organ here. You can read it wherever and whenever you want and I can also share you other little details about the place, food, presentation and etc. And not to bug IG users with the long words.

I'm doing this just because I appreciate the honest thought of a detailed review on things and also to share with whoever that reads this. I hope this will also give you ideas on where to eat as I do when I read food blogs.

On that note, I'm not turning my blog into a food blog. I'm just sharing the stuff that I think worth sharing :)

To start this off, I think it is nicer to start something close to me. When I mean close, it is literally close to where I am currently working.

--------------------------------------------------------

Have you ever heard of Nasi Beringin? No? Well, me either. I did not have the slightest clue as to what it is until I found the stall that sells it.

Nasi Beringin! :D

It is basically rice that is cooked with herbs and spices and eaten with curry, sambal and any other lauk that you want. When I first tried it, I took beef rendang as my lauk. Gee took their fried chicken.

Love the sambal and the curry! Yumms!

The rice tasted superb! I love the hints of spices used to cook the rice and the curry along with the sambal which complimented the spiced rice. However, their beef rending was nothing to shout about. Good thing, it comes with cucumber and pineapple acar. Okay I'm not too sure what that is but it's like the vegetable that you'll have if you're having nasi beriyani.

As I munch up the rice, Gee offered me to taste her chicken. I was expecting the taste of the plain fried chicken but when it hit my tongue, I was mind-blown by it! It was really, Really nice! It also had the hints of the spices that made it tastier! I'm in love with the chicken. I suggest that if you want to try this dish, take it with fried chicken. You won't regret it! :D

One of the things that I like about the stall is that you can request for a full or half portion of rice! I am not a big fan of rice so I will usually ask for the portion to be halved. Yeayers!

Now I have another spot to have my lunch!

Nasi Beringin is at Mutiara Bangsar opposite NSTP. It's on the 2nd floor of the building and the last stall at the food court. I'm not sure what time it opens but you can definitely have your lunch here :)

If you do try it, let me know how it goes for you! :)
