New Found Cousin!

Do you ever experience this one thing, the part where you just talked about that someone you haven’t see for such a long time but the next thing they’re on top of your door step (it doesn’t matter where they step but as long as they’re at your house)?

Well, it certainly happened to me.

You see, I was chatting with my friend, Joseph (or some people prefer to call him Zhong Xin) on Thursday night. We were talking about what to do after we get our results and stuff. He told me that he’s going to do A-levels and he’s going to Singapore to continue his studies.

I told him to say hello to my cousin when he’s there (even though he doesn’t know my cousin).

And the next day! Boom! My cousin CAME!

And no.

He’s NOT actually my NEW FOUND COUSIN. I just wrote that because we just got close after he came to my house all the way from Singapore- surprisingly- last week!

Oh yea, I forgot to introduce him to you, my readers. His name is Khidhir Akmal but people call him Akmal (but now, I only call him Mal).

He’s actually my second cousin. You see, my grandfather and his grandfather are brothers. So, that makes my mom and his dad first cousin. And finally that made him my second cousin. Get it? Lol!

Never mind that. Let’s get on. Well his birthday is surprisingly at the end of the year! Seriously! I mean his birthday is actually on the 31st of December!

Poor him. :(

But at least he gets to celebrate it with the people celebrating New Year! It’s more fun! Right?

Hehe..

Back to the part where he came to my house all of the sudden-thank God it’s not in the middle of the night!-with his parents which would make them my uncle and aunt.

My family (which excludes my grandpa) was having a very late breakfast – it was 12 pm and my sisters and I have not yet had our bath- when suddenly the door ball rang. We were wondering “who the hell came?”

When we looked through the glass, we saw a Hyundai car with a Singaporean number plate on it.

“Who are they?” Everybody was still thinking.

Then suddenly a pang hit me! It was my cousin that came to our house early this year!

I did miss them somehow. Lol!

I told my sisters and we jumped and ran upstairs to get ourselves bathed. Lol! It was hilarious at that time. We were running our way to get washed and all. Banging stuff off the floor and cleaning up our room.

But my sisters and I have this condition where when we bath; it’ll take us like a whole 20 minutes to bath. Not washing the hair. If we’re washing our hair then it’ll be like an hour or more.

So just imagine each of us using the bathroom with each spending 20 minutes in. Yup! It took us about an hour to get all set.

Akmal’s mother, our aunt also called (or shout at) us!

She was like this. “Oi! Anak dara! Buat ape kat atas tu? Turun la!” (translation: “Oi! What are you girls doing up there? Come down!”)

After all that chaos, Kak Noi and I went down first since Arfah was still in the bathroom, doing God knows what, and greet our uncle, aunt and Akmal. Akmal has a big brother(I call him Abang Mizi) but he wasn’t there cause he has to go through a two-year of National Service.

Oh yea, there was another second cousin but he was all quite and stuff. Will tell you later if I have the chance.

Akmal was about one year younger than me. But really, he’s a tall fella. WAY taller than me! Seriously I don’t know what he eats but he is TALL.

His brother? Don’t ever ask. Much, much, much taller!

Back to him. We chat with my aunt and uncle and Akmal. My uncle and aunt are hilarious! Seriously. They can make you laugh even though they just said like a couple of words.

But as Akmal and I agree at the end of the day, they just talk about crap.

Haha!

They had their lunch here at our house and since there isn’t any Nandos over at Singapore, we brought them to one after that.

Oh yea, forgot about that one little thing. After they had their lunch, we showed them our glorious rambutan tree. It was giving out fruits and so begins the plucking of the rambutans. Lol!

My aunt was the director and her ‘slaves’ are Akmal, my uncle and my other cousin.

She kept on telling them to pluck the ones high over the tree. Seriously. It was quite tall. Even with a ladder, they have to use the plucking thing.

Oh yea, there’s this one picture that I took when Akmal was on the tree. I only got his back.

At the end of the plucking-session, -they ended up bringing home one full basket of rambutans- we head off to JJ to take them to Nandos.

Akmal found out that Famous Amos here is halal, so my grandma bought him a packet of no-nut chocolate chip cookies. Since I was there, we took a chance of having one too. Hehe.

Bad Izzah!

Then we prepare our stomachs to eat the sultry, deliciously chicken at Nandos. I had my normal menu, ¼ chicken with 2 sidelines. Lol! Just can’ get enough of it.

To my surprise, Akmal took another dish and asked for it to be ‘Extra Hot’.

Seriously. I thought I was the one in the family that had the ‘hot tongue’ but he exceeded me!

Crazy guy leh!

After that amazing ‘dinner’, Akmal asked if there was a pastry that has kaya in it.

This is his exact word that I think I heard him saying.

“Ade tak bola yang ade kaya dalamnye? Macam bulat-bulat gitu.” (translation: “Is there any balls that had kaya in it? Sort of round looking like that.”)

I was like “Is it kaya balls?”

And we brought him to the booth like place that sells that stuff. He was delighted to get it. Haha!

And then we brought Akmal to Dunkin Donut for he loves donut. My aunt called him and his brother ‘the donut guys’. Really. They’re that kind of people that LOVES donuts.

They took back home a dozen donuts and my aunt went crazy by buying three packs of those little assorted donuts.

They say it’s not halal over there (Singapore).

I even prepared a list of foods that they can’t eat or don’t have over at Singapore.

- Starbucks

- Famous Amos

- Kenny Rogers

- Nandos

And the list goes on and on. I’m really glad that the foods in Malaysia are mostly halal and are available here so I can eat all that I can.

After some food shopping, we head to my other uncle house which is my uncle’s brother’s house. Get it? Haha!

We spent our time by chatting most of the time. Akmal and I took some pictures but all thanks to my 2.0MP phone camera, the picture was not that good.

Akmal and his parents went back to Singapore the next day. I really wish that I could go along with them but all thanks to my ‘dead’ passport, I couldn’t.

My mom told them that we may be coming over to Singapore after having my sisters and my passport renewed.

Mama! Renew it NOW!!

After that day, Akmal and I kept on contacting with each other.

I picked up few Singaporeans Malay words too!

Haha! :D

Ps: Arfah got what she wanted for her PMR results.

Pps: I’m currently over crazed by using the Singaporeans word that Akmal taught me. Lol!

Twice!

Last Tuesday, Efa, Aina, Fatin, Azira and I went to One Utama or some people call it OU. We had our brunch here!

Delicious!

I had this

Garlic Bread

And the rest of my friends had this!

Amazingly good Wedges!

We also shared the delicious Classic Chocolate cake but it was all snapped up before I could even take a picture of it!

Then we head to MPH to burn our time before we go to the movies. Efa –who’s an ardent fan of Hindustan’s movies- found a book about Shah Rukh Khan. Luck was on her side cause the book was not wrapped up in a plastic cover.

She picked up a spot and starts to run through the book. This is how she looked like when she’s reading that book.

Look at her hands!

After finishing the book we head our way to the cinema. Yes, we had waited for her to finish reading that book (that book had around 300 pages I think) and while doing so Fatin and I shot this.

Fatin insisted us to take this

And she also insisted us to do this weird faces

Another of Fatin's ideas

We had booked for this!

Quite interesting

Oh yea, before we that we also had a fabulous time playing bowling. Since I haven’t played for quite awhile, I had lost to them. Thank god they didn’t ask me to treat them or something. Lol!

The Golden Compass was quite interesting. I don’t know about others but I found it to be quite ok. XP

After that we went to Craft Haven! I had to buy the acrylic paint for my folder. Lol! Yup! I’m decorating my own file folder. Hehe..

We then head back to Aina’s house just to hang around AND we played Monopoly!

I missed that game. I haven’t played that game for over 3 years. While playing that game, somebody told us that she was hungry. So, we ‘paused’ the game and went to McDonalds.

While having some McD’s, all of the sudden we started to play it like we’re drunk! Seriously!

We were shouting and mumbling stuff like ‘Pay me!’,‘ You’re on MY LAND!’ and so on.

But then the fun ended because we had to go home. After saying my ‘good nights’ to my friends, my mom brought Arfah and me to the same McD that I went with my friends before.

But at that time I was feeling like I was drunk (no, I don’t take alcohol!) from drinking Iced Lemon Tea. So, I was shouting some stuff that I can barely even remember today!

Seriously, I don’t know what Iced Lemon Tea can do to me until that day. I can go way high!

And that same thing happened to me today! No! Not the shouting. The part where I go all nuts that is.

You see, when I woke up today, after I had my bath and all, I was feeling very, very, VERY SLEEPY.

(Results are from sleeping at 4 am and waking up at 8 am. Will write about why I sleep that late later)

So I took a few minutes of nap. Then when I woke up again, I was feeling super energetic!

I was dancing like crazy! I ran up and down, jump all around my room and doing some weird dancing. Lol!

Akmal. This is your fault! You made me sleep at 4 am!! Lol! No la. I don’t blame you at all. (Will write about Akmal, my new found cousin in my next post)

Yup! I really did that. Lmao!

Thank God nobody had a camera at that time to capture all my weird dancing. Haha!

Ps: Arfah is currently opening her History revision book just check if her answers are correct! Her results are coming out tomorrow!

Mmm.. YUMMY!

I’m talking about this donut and coffee shop. It’s J. Co and Coffee.

Haven’t heard of it?

Let me introduce you to this wonderful donut-making shop that has captured my taste buds.

It is owned by this hair stylist in Indonesia but is being looked by a famous donut expert.

They had recently opened a shop here at Pavilion. So my mum, grandma (just left from her hospital the day before), Arfah and I went there to make a visit.

To our surprise, there was a super long queue in front of that shop!

Yes, my aunt had warned us that the same thing happened when she went to Bandung last month (she was the one that introduced us to this donut haven).

So we decided to go over to the nearest bakery there since my grandma wants to have her bakery shopping spree (she’s crazy about breads and pastries).

Arfah and I bought a little Christmas tree. Edible of course.

The Christmas Tree

After my grandma had bought all the breads that she wants we make our way to the long queue of J. Co.

Yup! We joined in the crowd.

It was tiring standing in the line. I mean we had to stand for 30 minutes to make our order.

I really want to eat the Mango Blitz but no luck; other people had reached to it before I do.

So we settled for this and are happy about it!

The box

The wonderful donuts

Oh yea, we also had the chance to see their Singing Christmas Tree. It’s called that ‘cause it had a choir singing on it.

Yes. ON IT.

Alas, when we take a look, there was none.

The 'Singing' Christmas Tree
It was a beautiful tree though.

The beautiful decorations on the tree

At home, we tried the donuts and they are YUMMY! You have to try it. Seriously!

Ps: Arfah’s results are going to come out on the 27th. Good Luck to all PMR candidates!

OMG! The Hospital Is FULL!!

YUP!!

You see, my grandma have been waiting to have her heart surgery since early this year (wait, I think it’s last year). After being admitted into the National Heart Institute (also known as IJN) for three days, the doctor told her that the original plan for the surgery has been post-pone to the 21st of next month.

Apparently, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) department is full of patients. Some of the patients in there which should be in the normal ward are still there. I’m not blaming them though.

This situation has got me to think that people now days are bound to get ill. I mean, just look at the hospitals. More cases are going in rather than going out. I heard my mom talking with my great-aunt about her neighbour.

It seems that her neighbour had fallen from the stairs and had hit her head on the floor. They tried to go to the nearest hospital but there was no ward that can be used. They then went to other hospitals and got the same answer. Finally, when they reached the Sunway Medical Centre, the person died.

How terrible.. : (

When my mom talked about why people now days get sick easily, she said that it was the way people live their lives. It’s how they control their lifestyle. Haha! I agree with that.

With a McDonald just behind my house, I can clearly see the long stretch of cars queuing to buy their meals. And that includes my dear little sister. No wonder the hospital are full. Lol!

And with more restaurants opening up to 24-hour a day (especially the mamaks), there is no doubt that the hospital will never ever be empty.

God! I must start back my exercise routine if I ever want to avoid that.

Gym! Here I come!

Ps: I've been staying up until 5 in the morning and only sleep until 10 a.m.!
Pps: I really want to see this movie..

What Do You Want To Be?

The question everybody ask when you were in your innocent childhood years and of course most probably answered that they wanted to be a doctor (the famous one) or a lawyer.

But as you grew older, getting wiser and more mature you think again what is it that you REALLY want to be. For some that has that extra special genius gene in their selves would most probably be furthering their studies while ones that have lack of that would still be thinking what they want to do.

The exact question was thrown at me when I was discussing about college with my mom. When she asked that particular question, I let my mind wonder off somewhere else.

I kept on thinking and thinking on what do I want to do when I enter college? What course would I venture into? Will I be perfect in that certain course? All questions were popping out in my head leading me to think of what do I want to do in the future.

And when my grandpa asked me whether I really want to major in Mass Communication, I immediately said yes.

I really feel that I would do great in Journalism. I mean I love to write. If I hated it, I wouldn’t be writing this. It doesn’t mean that I have to really major in Journalism. I can learn other subjects they offer in Mass Comm. like Media Studies or even PR.

After the silence that I gave my mom, she asked me back. I didn’t answer.

At that time, I really, really need to think about whether my choice is the one for me. After a few days, my mom asked me that question again. Instead of giving her silence, I told her that I’m really sure I want to further my studies in Mass. Comm.

What is it that made me said that? Well, my mom and I went to the Education Fair at PWTC. After asking tons of question to the people who were in charge, I was determined that I really can make it in this field.

Now the only thing that’s left is where I want to further my studies. My mom and I have looked into some private universities and colleges. The best institutions that offer the course that I want are HELP College University, Taylor’s College, UCSI and Sunway College University.

After really looking into the said colleges, my mom and I have decided that the best among the four is UCSI and Taylor’s College. We still have to choose between both but I think I know which will be my in my final decision.

Ps: I've been listening to this! It's awesome!!

Outing!

Yup! I went out with one of my best friends Efa and another ex-classmate Arief. We decided that KLCC was the best place to go since Efa and Arief are looking for a job to pass their time until SPM results come out.

Yer.. I’m super scared with my results. Hopefully I will get a good result.

Oh yea, just so everyone knows my grandpa didn’t let me apply for a job. Seriously, is he mad or what? I need to do something to pass my time too!

Well, get back to the topic. Efa and I came first since Arief wasn’t even up at around 11. We went to loads of different kinds of store just to ask whether they have any jobs for Efa. Mostly don’t.

Efa did however tell me that she was looking for a place that is quite and peaceful. So we went to the bookstores. Mostly asked for a resume to be emailed to their blah blah blah and so on.

After an hour or so Arief finally came with his two cousins (forgot their names). Arief joined us and we went to watch Enchanted. God, I tell you, it’s one hell of a wonderful movie. Anybody who haven’t watched that movie, go online or directly to the cinema and book for that movie.

It’s a total loss if you don’t watch it. I mean it!

After that movie we went for a late lunch. At first I was dreading on not eating at the food court but at last I gave up. I had Laksa and Efa had Chicken Rice. Arief went for a little of Japanese food, Teppayaki and Chawan Mushi.

Later Arief and Efa split up with me. I HAD to go to Kinokuniya.

I’ve been wanting to buy P.S. I Love You since the movie is going to come out soon and I wanted to finish reading it before I watch the movie. Besides, reading it is better than watching. That is for me. So I ran through the bookstore and grabbed the book.

It had a cover of Gerard Butler and Hilary Swank on it. I asked if there was any other covers but bad luck they only sell that cover. They say it’s to promote the movie. Well, anything works as long as I get to read it first.

So I went to the counter and paid. And as usual, I asked for the book to be wrapped. Hey, I love my books. There’s no harm in wrapping it up right?

I met up with Efa and Arief back at Tower Records. I had to find out whether they have the soundtrack for my favourite movie, Secret (or in Mandarin Bu Neng Shuo De Mi Mi or directly translated Secret I Can’t Tell).

OMG! The song in that movie is just so wonderful!

But to my disappointment, it has not been shipped yet. Well, you would just have to wait for it wouldn’t you?

Arief had to leave early (so does his cousins) so it’s just us girls left there. I had to buy pretzels for my sister so we made our way to Auntie Anne’s. I also did manage to buy a pack of Chocolate Chips and Pecan cookies before we go back home.

I missed them so much I’d bought quite a lot. Never mind the price. Haha!

And so we made our way to the train station and Efa’s dad picked us up. Since I have not hanged around with Efa, I decided that I’ll stay longer at her house just to catch up on what’s going on with her life. Lol!

I ended up staying almost until 10. Haha!

Ps: My little sister is 'addicted' to this...

And There It Goes...

What is it that went away? What is it that made me mad?

Well, first of all the thing that went away and made me mad is the entire post I've been writing since this morning!

You see, I haven't blog for quite awhile now so I decided that today would be a good day to lazily write something up. So I went on and on typing up all the things that I wanted to.

And then, suddenly, the computer hanged! I mean it just froze! STUPID COMPUTER!!!

I swear I'd ask my mom to buy me a laptop ASAP!

And so I tried to switch it back up and hope that the stupid computer will save it. But nay, it did not.

Darn it you stupid computer!!

Now, here I am ranting about what happened. Gosh! I need to get ready. Going to the Education Fair.

I'm enchanted by this

Big Gulp and Lots More

Last Saturday, my mom, little sister and I went to Chili’s for dinner. We ordered our usual food, Classic Nachos and Fajitas Cajun Style.

We also ordered the usual bottomless drinks and I took the delicious Green Guava.

When our order arrived we mashed into it, eating everything and unconsciously I kept asking the waiter to refill my drink. My little sister also kept on refilling her drink!

By the end of the dinner, I had quite a lot of water in my big stomach. Lol!

My mom , little sister and I counted on how many refills that we had.

My little sister: 3 refills

Moi: 5 refills

Haha! XP

Quite a lot I guess. Haha! But who cares as long as I get to fill in my tummy.

Oh yea, I also bought myself The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I know it’s been a century since people read that but hey, I can do anything that I want. I’m going to buy other books in that series also.

Here are other books that I’ve been meaning to read:-

- P.S I Love You

- Size 12 Is Not Fat

- Are You Alone On Purpose

- Gossip Girl series

- The It Girl

- The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series

- Avalon High

- Jinx

- Pants On Fire

And the list goes on and on…

Well gotta go. Hehe..

Ps: P.S. I Love You is coming out!

After The Big Exam…

These are the things that I did after my super duper big exam.

-directly after my last paper, I sent my sister back to her condo in Shah Alam
-the next day, I cleaned up my room so it’s totally 95% dust-free
-played my guitar for a few hours (haven’t touch it since a month ago)
-The next day, was very bored so searched for books to read.
-Found two books, The Other Side of Midnight and Rage of Angels both written by Sidney Sheldon
-Online, eat, sleep, bathed, eat, watch tv, sleep, online
-The next day, went for barbeque and got splashed with water balloons (was thoroughly soaked with water)
-the next day brought my grandma for her teeth check-up for her heart surgery next month

My desk at the examination hall

And that’s about it. Noticed that I didn’t go out? Yup. Life’s been a little dull but it’s only for now. Hehe..
